Betty Brown received an Arts Council SIAP Award in December 2022 for the creation of a bespoke doll's house inspired by the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annamakerrig. Speaking of her time there Betty says:

"As I have enjoyed several creative residencies there throughout my art career, I wanted to share with others this unique meeting place which became a workplace for artists of all disciplines when Theatre Director Tyrone Guthrie left it as a retreat for artists and other like persons in his will.
My intention has been to recreate some of the stories of several creatives that I met and interacted with, or was inspired by during my stays. The house started as a cardboard construction which I worked on at Annamakerrig in November 2022. It is now being built by my husband and commissioned artist, Willie Heron, in wood in his studio and the project was applied for to ACNI as a collaborative work, much in the spirit of working together which the Tyrone Guthrie Centre inspires."

"As these dolls houses need to be shown together explaining the method of creation and construction, I will be placing them in the studio part of this house together with the various spin-off 3D works that have arisen as part of the creative process."
